Product Guide

How Interface works

Interface combines a Mac workspace, connected services, and agents into one controlled surface for intent-driven work.

The product model

Interface starts with a workspace on your Mac. The workspace holds the context: visible apps, tabs, notes, files, chat, and connections. Agents use that context to decide what to read, what to ask, and what to do next.

Local and cloud work

Some work happens locally on your Mac, such as arranging windows or using visible apps. Some work uses cloud models or connected services. Interface presents both through the same chat and approval flow.

Control points

  • Connections control which external services the agent can use and what integration permissions are enabled.
  • System permissions control macOS access for window management, screen capture, media, and file access.
  • Activity sync, imports, and sidebar settings control what Interface remembers, what content enters your vault, and how workspace windows behave.
  • Default model, appearance, keyboard shortcuts, version updates, and account settings control everyday app behavior.

Trust model

The agent should work from visible context, cite important sources when it can, and ask before taking actions that could surprise you. You can interrupt, deny, or adjust permissions as needed.
